hey Qnap users
i have a issu.
and it looks like it happens after the new update, i am on 4.0.5 and i have a TS412
well its hard to describe bud i going to do my ferry best
when i am at my pc and i try to type in de Bar of windows explorer my "nas name" like so "//NASC90544" <- that is how i normally get in my NAS files
windows tells me this
Titel : network ERROR
Description: windows cannot acces \\NASC90544
check the spelling of the name. otherwise, there might be a problem whit your network. to try to identify and resolve network problems, click diagnose.
well this is BoelSh**T because when i type in my ip of the nas witch is static (192.168.2.1) and when i type in that it can get in. ferry strange HU ?
what i try so fare
i have try to open the nas at a different PC
NOTE: i can see an access the ohter pc('s) in my network by the "network name" only the "nasc90544" gives me this problem.
i try to change the network name of my nas from "NASC90544" to "QNAS"
NOTE: i see Qnas in my network list but get the same network error. when i go to the IP i can access it
i have try to reboot and even RESET my Router. but non of that helps
I have try reboot the NAS several times ( 3 times or so )
non of this helps
what i don't try
i don't try to go back one update (downgrade)
i don't try to reset te NAS. because i don't wanna loos my data.
so pleas can some one tells me what is wrong.
and are there people ho face the same error

well first i think. i found out what is goin on.
i thing its in the Microsoft networking setting in the nas. i try to enable and disable it but doing noting. and last week i take my nas to a friend of my and the same error. so in my opinion its not in my network its in the TS-412
o and change my NAS name to "qnap" so its "QNAP" now bud that is not working two
the model is a arcadyan vgv7519 custom FIRMW by my ADSL provider KPN. so not mutch to change besides the port forwarding/wifi settings/lan settings ( like static IP's)

Well, quite honestly defining your VPN so that it overlaps the LAN range and wondering why it breaks is not exactly a bug. It must NEVER be the same as your LAN! And while at it, the "defaults" in the GUI should be randomized, otherwise you soon get things borked when having the same subnet in use on both VPN sites.
I'm gone from this forum till QNAP stop wasting volunteers' time. Get help from QNAP helpdesk instead.
