Airprint is ashame

Postby ocarrip » Sun Apr 15, 2012 11:31 pm

My next purchase of a NAS is going to be a synology if QNAP dont support Airprint.

By the way, synology print server only works with the usb port printer.

What happens with the network printers I own shared with all my computers.? I throw hem to the rubbish?

Printing with iPads is a shame. Throw your network printers to the bin and buy new airprint ones. Printopia needs a computer on, and i bought a iPad to keep it off.

DO A NAS PRINT SERVER TO ANY NETWORK PRINTER SOON AND KEEP THINGS SIMPLE, STUPIDS.

Wow. I thought the whole purpose of having a network-attached printer is to be able to print directly from clients to the printer. Without any additional "printserver".

Yeah, so go blame Apple for this ** and do not buy their products.

Calling a vendor stupid because you bought an overpriced product from another vendor that is only able to print via some whacky proprietary protocol, hmmm, very mature.

P.S. NAS == Network Attached Storage.
QNAP, why is your homework still not done?
3.8.2 Build0301 - Codename "Titanic" - Dear customer, GTFO! NOT acceptable once again!
QTS 4.0 - Codename "Leaky Snail" - Slower than ever. Yes, we can!

+1 for me as well :)

AirPrint preferably also for networked printers (not just USB) and some kind of admin page to manage AirPrint?

Maybe it's just me, but that thread is not telling me much? No pun intended - but I did notice the last message there:

:Plasma: wrote:Unfortunately this is where the success story for me ends, while I can print it just spits out lots of garbled pages the only English in the garble being ..
