Surveillance Station (firefox/safari support)

Postby abaddon » Sat Oct 01, 2011 6:07 pm

Hi,

The surveillance station doesn't support other browsers than internet explorer.
If you don't use Windows as an OS you can't use the Live view or Playback tab of the surveillance station.

System Message

Surveillance Station is only supported on IE browser 6.0 or later.

Instead of using activex, you could use java to support other browsers.
Can you give me your standpoint in this matter ?

Add me to the list of users asking for more universal application access to the surveillance station!

An Apple OS X standalone application for Surveillance Station Pro was showcased during Computex 2012 in Taipei and should become available soon. A similar one for WIndows should become available later this year, so the browser compatibiblity issue will become obsolete for most deployments.

I hope it will be soon. in fact, i don't mind a beta version just to try it out now and have some usage at this time cos my wife can't monitor my kid at home with the maid.....

Also, sad to find out it now supports 1 ip cam when I bought it with a promise of 4 ip cam license...feel so cheated.....tried to downgrade to get the 4 license ip cam with surveillance 1 for my usage..but the logs says i need minimum 3.6.2 but the download site only has 3.6.1....

According to the profile, your NAS is a TS-459 - here is no Surveillance Staiton Pro in v3.7.1, so this limit - under which is under discussion with QNAP of course - does not apply yet. Or have missed something here on the classic Surveillance Station? I'm able to add the second (and up to the fourth, specs permitting) cam on non-TS-x69 Pro devices. There are several other threads on this subject - let's discuss abut this affront aginst the customer base there please.
