TS-412 can't connect after hang on restart

Post by citysoundman »

I have a TS-412, firmware 4.1.1. Yesterday I connected from my laptop, and I was prompted that there was a new firmware update, but that I should restart before updating the firmware. The prompt window gave me the option to restart or not. I chose to restart.
After waiting over one hour without hearing any restart beeps - progress bar on screen looked OK, it stayed on 'restarting', and lights on front panel looked normal - I figured it was hung up because it was taking so long. I held the power button a couple of seconds to force a power down. Then I powered up and it seemed to turn on fine.

But now I can't connect to the QNAP from my laptop - my browser says can't connect to the server. QFinder let's me 'Configure' with my regular username and password, and shows me my IP address and network settings are normal. Also I can connect to Music Station. And I can get to my data through AFP & SMB, so I know everything is there.

Not sure if I need to reset?

Thanks!
Bob

Login into your NAS via SSH, login as "admin" and run:

Code: Select all

setcfg system 'Force SSL' 0
/etc/init.d/thttp.sh restart
Now try to access the Admin WebUI. If this also fails, please restart the NAS and try again again to access http://NAS-IP:8080/

Thanks Patrick! The script did not work, but restarting and logging in with the URL you suggested did!

Much appreciated :)
