TS-439 seems frozen after start of online RAID expansion

Post by judikator »

Hi,

I want to expand my RAID5 from 4x 2TB drives to 4x 3TB drives and did the following:

I replaced the HDDs one by one and let the system rebuild the RAID5.
Then I started the RAID expansion via web-frontend, but then the system seemed to freeze:
The indicator is blinking red/green but otherwise nothing seems to happen. The drives are not working (only the QNAP fans can be heard) I can’t access the web-frontend anymore. And when I tried to use the “onboard-menu” it froze as I came to the “Main Menu 3. Volume” option and since then the display is on and shows this text but no reaction to the enter/select buttons.
The TS-439 Pro II is in this state now for over 34h.

The system is accessible via SSH and after a web-search I tried a readout of the kmsg file, which gave me

Code: Select all

<6>[483891.366126] md0: detected capacity change from 5996376883200 to 8996959027200
<4>[483892.221485] VFS: busy inodes on changed media or resized disk md0
Any suggestions? This state doesn’t seem normal to me, but I have no experience and couldn't find a solution using google, yet...
Is the system still busy expanding the volume? :S

Thank you in advance
