No, I don't believe its a DOA drive as it spun up fine the first time I tried it. But I will see if I can test it.

RMA drive as necessary. What is RMA?

"Return Merchandise Authorization". Basically I'm suggesting that you test the drive, and return it to your Retailer for a replacement if it is defective.
Your NAS is unable to provide the partition information or S.M.A.R.T. on HDD2, which suggests a drive issue.

You have not provided any information about the drive, so I have no idea why you doubt that it is "DOA".
