Using Zimbra as external LDAP

Is it possible to use Zimbra LDAP for user authentication?
There is a guide available?

There are two threads returned on searching for Zimbra in the forum here. I'm still convinced this is possible - however, the default ZImbra schemes seem(ed) to be incomplete for NAS purposes.
