The system is not clean

Post by giopas »

Hi folks,

Dumb question: it is some days that I receive the following errors whenever I restart the NAS:
[Volume DataVol 1, Pool 1] The file system is not clean. It is suggested that you go to [Storage Manager] to run "Check File System".
The problem is: I cannot find "Check File System"

I have already checked for bad blocks with no errors.

I have found it. On "Storage Manager", expand "Storage Pool 1", right click on "DataVol1 (System)", choose "Manage" and then click "Actions" and choose "Check File System". :)

EDIT: I receive the following error (in 46 different entry logs):

Is there a way to force disk check at next reboot, like it is possible to do it on linux?

I get this error message too, after every reboot (or shutdown followed by a manual restart).
Did you get any help from anyone trying to understand this?

Just to add a me too - I have an array that prompts 'not clean' every few days.
Scanned drives, not reported errors etc.
Is this anything specific? - it's a pain to be servicing my array despite no other problems every few days!

If you are running 4.x firmware then then it is a know problem. Please search the forum as there are a number of threads on this already. Locking this one as we don't need another one on the same topic.
Use the forum search feature before posting.

Use RAID and external backups. RAID will protect you from disk failure, keep your system running, and data accessible while the disk is replaced, and the RAID rebuilt. Backups will allow you to recover data that is lost or corrupted, or from system failure. One does not replace the other.
