Volume rename alias and shares

Post by ruimota »

Hello,

I am using a TVS-871 with FW 4.2 and 4 volumes over 1 storage pool.
Today i renamed a volume (alias) and forgot to move one share inside that volume.

This share, all folders and files seem to be lost...since i didn't delete them shouldn't they still exist on the NAS file system?

Regards,

It would help to know exactly what you did.

Basically i renamed one volume on the NAS control Panel.
This volume had 1 share configured with several folders and files.

I tried to find these files with SSH client, because de volume renamed had an allocation size that didn't match with the occupation size, but couldn't find any files at all.

I have no idea what you did actually does. If you had done it via a SSH login command line, then maybe.

If you tried finding a file by the "find" command, searching from "/" and came up empty, then I suspect that what you did deleted everything. For example:

Code: Select all

find / -iname \*.jpg
Then you will have to restore everything from your backups.
