USB drive refuses to mount

Post by mikerayjones »

Hi all, hope someone can help me.

I've been very happy with my TS-209 II, which I've been backing up on a schedule to a 350Gb Seagate drive via the front USB port. The Seagate is now full, so I've bought a 2Tb Toshiba stor.E ALU2 USB drive to replace it.

The problem is that no matter what filesystem I use, the NAS refuses to mount it, either automatically or manually. I've tried (via PartedMagic) ext3, ext4, fat32 & ntfs, all to no avail.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Failing that, if there's no way that I can use this drive, can someone recommend a high-capacity USB drive that definitly works with the 209? I don't want to make the same mistake twice over!

Thanks
Mike.

Does anyone have any advice for me? This is a big problem as I am currently unable to run backups.

Thanks
Mike.
