Disk full after upgrade? - SOLVED

Postby pietg » Sat Aug 18, 2012 5:39 pm

Hi,
Just updated the firmware from 3.7.1 to 3.7.3. Everything went fine.

This morning I received a message the the disks where full. Which was very unlikely because I only used 2 of the 3 Tb before I upgraded.
Looking at the syslog I can see this.
System event logsSystem connection logsOnline UsersSyslogAll eventsInformationWarningError ClearSave / 107
Type Date Time Users Source IP Computer Name Content
2012-08-18 1061 11:08:07 admin 172.19.3.104 --- [Power Management] System will be restart now.
2012-08-18 1060 06:51:17 System 127.0.0.1 localhost [RAID5 Disk Volume: Drive 1 2 3 4] Disk space is full.
2012-08-18 1059 06:26:12 System 127.0.0.1 localhost [RAID5 Disk Volume: Drive 1 2 3 4] Disk space is almost full.

So my disks went from almost full to full within 30 mins with no one on the systems working.

So, who can help me in solving this? I already rebooted the system but no luck.
Piet

hi
what about the share management section? could please check if those unexpected datas are placed in one of those.
an other move could be to log to nas via SSH with putty and do a
Code: Select all
df -h
.

Problem solved.
The recycle bin was 2,65 Tb big :-(
Don't know why it got so big, especially because I didn't deleted anything recently. So the size shouldn't have been growing.
But the retention is now on again, recycle bin emptied.
And I am back to normal.

Thanks,
Piet

As the system wasn't responsive anymore, I couldn't see what was in the recycle bin.
I was able to set the file retention to 90 days and the system started to empty the bin. And that solved the problem for me.

Only thing I can understand why the retention in days wasn't ticked anymore.
I think that will be my own fault.
