TS-870 PRO - SATA II vs. SATA III weirdness

Post by cryptochrome »

Hi,

so I got me a TS-870 pro, deployed firmware 4.1 and plugged in 8 WD Reds (4*4 and 4*6 TB). All good. Looking through the disk information on QTS, I noticed that disks in slot 1-7 report a connection speed of 3 gbps (SATA II) while slot 8 reports 6 gbps (SATA III). I know it doesn't make a difference for harddrives, but I am still wondering why only the 8th slot would connect at 6 gbps. It has the exact same harddrive make and model as slot 5-7, which only connect at 3 gbps.

By the way, all slots report they are 6 gbps capable and all drives run the same firmware and are SATA III drives.

Any thoughts?
