Symbolic Links and QSYNC

Post by mhaddy »

I was thrilled when I read up on QSYNC and the potential to finally get rid of Dropbox. However, unlike Dropbox, it doesn't appear as though QSYNC supports symbolic links on Mavericks. Please tell me there is some configuration file somewhere that I can edit to enable this functionality! I have files across several hard drives and in many different folders that makes it impossible to use this service if I have to move everything to the \QSYNC folder.

Does anyone know if the upgrade to Yosemite and/or firmware 4.1.1 has enabled this feature?

I would be very interested in the solution for that as well. It kind of doesn't make much sense to duplicate all the data i want to sync up in Qsync folder and would also allow for seamless sync of work folders.

I'm going to submit a ticket to support as well...

What did their support say? The QSync Mac client needs a lot of work and really just needs to catch up to the Windows client.

Qsync v2 for Mac is in closed testing I'm told by QNAP.
