QDownloader announced

Questions about using NAS on Mac OS.

QDownloader announced

Postby sumpfmonster » Sat Mar 08, 2008 6:19 am

Hi folks,

I wrote a small util, QDownloader, which works as an Qget alternative for Mac OS X.
It is still a 0.1 alpha release, but with some feedback I can improve it really fast...

You´ll find it at http://www.sumpfmonster.de

Best regards, Markus

The link does not appear to be working. Can you provide a link directly to the download?

Looks promissing and well developped using nice apple APIs (keychain for example).
Still needs some work (saving prefs at the end - it says date cannot be empty and then that it cannot save, changing options for downloads and so on)
Plus a nice icon :D
Some ui polishing as well (default column width for example)

Waiting for the next update now :)

I'm having problems with the download. I can download and mount the image - I see the application QDownloader. However, the application has no icon (as mentioned above) and more importantly, I am not able to execute the program.

Any help appreciated.

@Rory:

I´m very sorry for the problems you have with the programm - I suppose the problem is with Tiger (probably I not toggled the switch for the 10.4 SDK in Xcode... :-(

I´m on a work trip this weekend but hope to release a new version with some of the issues fixed in the beginning of the week.

@MathieuMa

Thanks a lot for your feedback, thats exactly what helps a lot...
Your issues will be on the top of my list for the next working session (maybe I need some help with the icon - graphics artwork is not my very best skill :-) )

Best regards, Markus

OK so it loads for me now. Great looking interface. However, I it will not allow me to add a NAS. It gives me the dropdown dialog box with the IP, user, pass fields but it does not accept the input nor will will let me cancel. I have to quit at that point. Also, not typo - address (not adress). Great looking for a first crack. You should sell it to QNAP...

I don´t have time to test it with the beta firmware, maybe next week I will have a look on it.

Sorry for the crashes, work in progress... :-)
