This particular European finds it pretty easy to deal with inconveniences caused by faulty server firmware without resorting to bizarre and offensive cultural stereotyping. I wish you'd take this rubbish elsewhere while we get on with the matter at hand.M2theCMR wrote:Yes, I know they are too. I just mean that its hard for europeans and americans to cope with their way of dealing with the issues and other peoples feelings about it. So no matter how frustrated we are, it feels like they don't give a **.

Re: WARNING 4.0.5 corrupts Adobe files! - Solution
Hi All,
Further to below solution have found AFP protocol still not stable but SMB protocol is. Once using only SMB protocol have not had a problem.

Re: WARNING 4.0.5 corrupts Adobe files!
Can anyone confirm if this problem is resolved in the latest version released, 4.0.7?
I asked QNAP a very clear question after a lengthy conversation back and fourth during the first quarter this year.
My question to QNAP 2014-02-28:

The answer from QNAP 2014-03-03:Can you please confirm that the latest firmware fixes all problems with AFP?
"Please don't upgrade the firmware for now."

Define "all problems" ... when reviewing the online documentation available i.e. the Logs for the TS-269L v4.0.7 firmware does include - already for 4.0.6 Build 0321:
[Version and Build]
QTS 4.0.6 build 0321
[Change log]
...
Fixed - Can not open the .psd files which are transmitted by AFP protocol

The problems discussed with QNAP were corrupted files over AFP.schumaku wrote:Define "all problems" ... when reviewing the online documentation available i.e. the Logs for the TS-269L v4.0.7 firmware does include - already for 4.0.6 Build 0321:[Version and Build]

We are running a TS-870U-RP. So I'm still waiting for an official confirmation.

This was fixed even before.jschwartz wrote:The problems discussed with QNAP were corrupted files over AFP.
Grab the logs and notes yourself.jschwartz wrote:We are running a TS-870U-RP.
Link provided is official - enjoy waiting for Godot.jschwartz wrote:So I'm still waiting for an official confirmation.
The no update message was clearly aimed against 4.0.5.
Honestly? If we had a newer 4.1 Release Candidate available (built with OpenSSL -DOPENSSL_NO_HEARTBEATS) - I would suggest to go for it. Why? No more QTS 4.0.x around - all production devices in Apple environments are on 4.1.0 Release Candidate, much smother especially on initial connecting shared folders and open folders.

The latest official release for TS-870U-RP is 4.0.7, so I asked QNAP again.schumaku wrote:This was fixed even before.jschwartz wrote:The problems discussed with QNAP were corrupted files over AFP.Grab the logs and notes yourself.jschwartz wrote:We are running a TS-870U-RP.Link provided is official - enjoy waiting for Godot.jschwartz wrote:So I'm still waiting for an official confirmation.

Response:Is it safe to update to the latest firmware (4.0.7 build 0410) and activate AFP again?
4.0.7 only fix the SSL Heartbleed vulnerability.
Recommend you to wait for 4.1.0 official release.

Re: WARNING 4.0.5 corrupts Adobe files!
Hi,
is there any way to save the damage files? I have a lot of JPEGs that I can't open. These were all saved with Photoshop and copied via AFP to a TS-469L.
Thanks in advance.
