hi @all! (especially Qnap engineers)
I use Qsync for my employees to sync the files on their laptops.
Our Qnap Box has a static internal ip and is reachable via https (incl. payed certificate) from external with a fixed external ip (NAT port 443).
the DNS is configured to resolve the nas ip internal and external with the same name.
example:
intern: 192.168.1.1 -> dns: nas.domain.tld
!
extern: x.x.x.x -> dns: nas.domain.tld
this works perfect.
now my problems:
At the Qsync Client i register the nas with its domain name: nas.domain.tld and its working.
but then the Qsync Client replaces the DNS name witch the ip addresses of the nas. WHY??
1.) making a public share link looks like: https://ip.of.nas:443/...., it should be: https://nas.domain.tld/...., if the link is opend a ssl warnung is shown!
2.) i have disabled non https access. why do i have to enable https for every link again? i just use https!

Re: Qsync and FQDN
Community here, to talk to QNAP you need to use a direct channel, ie. http://helpdesk.qnap.com/
The answer is very simple: As of now, QNAP does not support custom domains and hostnames like nas.domain.tld in Apps, in file sharing, ... most obvious: From where should the NAS know about nas.domain.tld ?
It's an open feature request to add custom domain support.
Regards,
-Kurt.
