Hello,
We have a TS-212 with firmware version 4.0.2 and recently we have been getting an error on all the Macs saying "Something is wrong with the volume's CNID DB. Using a temporary CNID DB instead. Check server messages for details". I have checked the logs on the server and I don't see any errors.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Not positive this is the correct forum but I thought I'd give it a shot.
We have also recently been unable to backup using Time Machine to the TS-212.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Re: TS212 Error on Mac
Hello, and welcome to the QNAP NAS Community Forum!
Afraid, a well known issue with earlier QTS 4.0.x firmware builds - caused in fact by unclean shutdown or roamed or sleep away Mac computers in fact. Consider to update to QTS 4.0.5 (for all TS-212/212P/212-E TurboNAS) resp. the coming up 4.0.x (.7 or .5 with another new build date - guess it should become available this Saturday in addressing the OpenSSL issue often heart about in the media these days.
Regards,
-Kurt.
