QNAP disconnect

Post by byrnea »

There are various posts about Error 36 which I am getting but they all seem to think it is a drive issue.

I know that my Mac is disconnecting from the QNAP folder (it gives me a message saying so - "Server connection interrupted") and then or course gives me error 36 because it cannot write.

There are no other issues. Drives are definitely fine.

I have tried Samba and AFP connections but same problem

Any thoughts?

By the way it is a large file copy operation I am trying to carry out, but after a few random minutes it errors. Very annoying!

Errr... cannot get rid of the impression that you NAS is actually crashing all the time. Known issues with 4.1.0 build 20140612 on ARM boxes with heavy I/O.

Code: Select all

# setcfg "Samba" "SPLICE" 0
# /etc/init.d/smb.sh restart
Try again after this. (Unsure how's the above workaround supposed to work for AFP, though, plus it certainly will NOT fix the underlying kernel fsck-up.)

ok thanks I'll do that. It's not exactly a busy box though, and is only "crashing" when i try and copy to it I think.
