[QPKG] BitTorrent Sync now is avaiable

The 3rd party BitTorrent Sync app uses the P2P (peer-to-peer) protocol to synchronize an unlimited number of files (stored on the NAS) between your devices. Your data is not stored on a server in the cloud but is protected using private keys during file transmission.

It's a bug, it just got fixed in the latest version, which of course may be released on our QNAP's sometime next year :-)

Will that work on TS-219P II (Marvell 2.0 GHz CPU)? I only see i386 and x64 at http://www.bittorrent.com/sync/download#NAS

edit: oh wait, I see ARM above that link.

edit:

Copied the ARM version to my folder and ran chmod 775 to match the permissions of the Sept 4 version to the Oct 29 download.

Code: Select all

BitTorrent Sync forked to background. pid = 3856. default port = 8888
[/share/MD0_DATA/.qpkg/BitTorrentSync] #
I had to use the --webui.listen option in order to enable the web interface on my local network.

edit: okay, now I see "Excessive time difference between peers" -- I guess it's been so long since I've had this working that it doesn't know what to sync?

edit: checked date and time on QNAP and found it one hour ahead compared to other devices -- now looking for daylight saving setting in QNAP.

edit: QNAP has daylight savings time turned on, but shell reports wrong time. Clicked on "Update" under General Settings / Time to synchronize with internet time and time adjusted in shell by an hour:

Code: Select all

[~] # date
Sun Nov 2 15:30:28 EST 2014
[~] # date
Sun Nov 2 14:31:59 EST 2014
[~] #
But QNAP btsync folders still report "Out of sync" with "Excessive time difference between peers"

edit: Killed the QNAP btsync process and restarted and everything is syncing again.

I'm not sure I agree - QNAP seems to be a slowwww moving entity - and officially, they don't support third party apps. Plus, this app is still in Beta. However, if you report the issue to BTsync support, you will receive an email within 48 hours, and they will *personally correspond with you to troubleshoot the problem. I have been doing so for a couple of weeks now, and they are *still working with me to fix my BTsync crashes on the QNAP. *great support by BTsync

Hello,

I know that the btsync is available as a official qpk package for the Qnap devices. My device is a TS-212P
But the version that is available is not the latest one.
I would like to know if it's possible to install the latest linux arm version that is available here http://www.getsync.com/intl/ru...
Can this be installed following more or less this tutorial http://nickology.com/2013/05/06/bitorrent/ ??

Hey all,

A lot of people are having issues with BTsync 2.0. Can someone please tell me where is the most up-to-date QPKG for the 1.4 version? (the latest Windows build as of today is 1.4.111).

Thanks,
T
