Cool; that sounds like loads of fun (and indeed, seriously useful)! I'm really looking forwards to experimenting with it (even though I'm already a self-confessed SSH enabled crontab tweaker).

Don't worry, many of us rather enjoy a bit of user-induced bad behaviour on our NAS units; it gives them 'character'!

I am from Qnap Support french team and presales.. I will try to support in the best way my applications
I was well known develloper for another NAS brand (starting with T....) with more 700 apps developped and maintained.

I think you can do it by editing the apache.conf file within the qpkg, with a simple apache credential request.

but not tested...

I made it tun on a custom port to allow NAT routing easily, you can also simply disable application once you set your cronjob...

Hi,

Just add a .htaccess in the base (folder) of application server you use (generally where are the index.html, index.php, etc.
limit access right to r only (all because read by Apache user : httpdusr) except admin

this can work until QNAP change the password encoding ...
here after a short working example ... but you can add more rules, control (SSL,etc.), or limits, etc. ...
adapt it to your own index, etc.
