App not working: "authentication failed"

Post by timag3 »

I've been trying to use this app to connect to different WebDAV services. I have not been able to do so, when configuring a new account I keep getting "authentication failed".

What I've tested so far:
- tested credentials through both webbrowser and windows builtin drive mapping for WebDAV, both work flawlessly
- tried different account on WebDAV service
- tried different WebDAV service
- reboot NAS after installation
- reinstall qkpg

There must be some issue with the qpkg or somewhere else in my NAS setup. Does the qpkg have dependencies? Any other ideas what might be going on?

Addition: if I look at the logs I find this entry quite a few times:

2015-10-31 13:39:28,842 PID:24996 configfile.py:96 cc DEBUG use default because conf is not exist /etc/config/cloudconnector/WebDAV/cloudconnector.admin.conf

On my QNAP there is no /etc/config/cloudconnector ...

I suspect this may be related but unsure how to fix this

Same problem here. App is junk, it just doesn't try to connect to the external service.

What type of device are you trying to use with WebDAV on the NAS?

In my case, it's ownCloud

The service I'm trying to connect to is STACK (https://www.transip.nl/stack/)

I've tried other WebDAV services as well just to test if the qpkg is working, but I get the same error above for all of the services even though I can connect to those same services through other means.

My NAS is a TS-439 running 4.2.0 build 20151023 with the latest version of the WebDAV Cloudbackup Station (1.1.364) software.

That doesn't answer my question.

Windows? IPad? Linux? OS X?

ownCloud's WebDAV works right out of the box for me under Linux.

I am not sure what you're asking? I am trying to connect WebDAV Cloud Backupstation to an online service to be able to backup my NAS through that service. Which device do you mean?

I think @pwilson did not understand the problem we're having. It doesn't matter where ownCloud is installed, the client (backupstation) just never connects to the outside service.

I got the same authentication failed error when trying to connect to webdav of TransIP Stack service.
An errorlog would be helpfull to see what goes wrong....

Hi,
it worked for a while, but after upgrading owncloud
i also got an auth failed on the account settings.
But the backup on daily base worked ...

in the owncloud Activitys i see the files that have been added,
but in the Folder they are not visible, but clickable....
so i think its an owncloud problem.

i use owncloud 8.1.3 stable.
the OC server is a hosted root server on Contabo.

Qnap TS-251 v4.2.0 with webdav backup 1.1.364

After some digging it turns out that Transip have based their "Stack" storage service on a customized version of owncloud so there seems to be a compatibility issue between owncloud based WebDAV and the WebDAV cloud backup qpkg. I'll log a call with them to see if they can help.

I did some more digging but still cannot figure out what is going on. There seems to be a timeout happening somewhere but it doesn't occur when i connect through other means. I don't have any more ideas so I hope someone who has intimate knowledge of the qpkg or the pythonscripts underneath can help me further. I found some more detailed logs:

Did you connect Transip already?
I was corresponding with them and asked them about your finding about the different versions and they didn't know.
