TS-119 v3.7.1, web pages are not responding

Postby JonB » Wed Aug 22, 2012 1:21 am

Hi

I have a TS-119 upgraded to 3.7.1. Since upgrading I am unable to login to the Admin screens or any other icons from the home page.

In the case of the Admin screen, it ignores the mouse click - no login dialog box, so no opportunity to enter credentials.
For the other facilities, I get a white screen with a dialog box saying "Access Denied", nothing else.
However, the NAS is working normally and the admin credentials are still valid. I can ssh and use the QNAP finder application to look at the configuration (both require admin password).

I think the web services are broken.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this? Has it been seen before? I tried a search but too many results came back. A reboot had no effect.

Thanks

JonB

Please do the manual update from the Linux shell. Login on the NAS by SSH from your computer (Windows: puTTY, OS X Terminal app: $ ssh admin@[NAS-IP-address]) using the admin credentials. Then you can enter the commands (the [~] shows just the currecnt directory, the # is the prompt.

The update process shown here http://wiki.qnap.com/wiki/Manually_Updating_Firmware - just the 1-2-3 should be enough.

In case the update stucks somewhere, please post the transcript (copy paste the text from the terminal).

Consider to fetch the newer v3.7.3 firmware image instead. Extract the image file(.img) from the archive (.zip) after download.

Hello,

After a firmware update of my TS-439pro to version 3.3.5.(built1105T) I have the 'same' problem.
Can access the NAS shared folders via the pc, but can not do anything via the web interface.
I can logon but it won't respond to any mouse clicks after this point.
It just freezes and says: loading data.....
Even other pages of my web browser freeze.
Rebooting doesn't help.
Acces from other computers have the same result (MAC and Windows)

Does anyone already have a solution for this?

Thanks for any response! 8)

Titus.

Hi,

I had this problem as well with firmware v3.7.3
Reverting to firmware v3.6.0 solved it.

I used Wireshark to look at the HTTP stream and there was a complaint about "missing resources", however this did not appear in the WWW browser.
I tried Firefox, IE and chrome - all the same story.

Doubt it ... you are just locked here - as most likley the update to 3.7.x failed, because of an update issue aroud 3.7.0. No other way I'd say than doing a manual update as per http://wiki.qnap.com/wiki/Manually_Updating_Firmware ... and submit the log if it wont' succeed.
