TS-412 - Low Performance; One Touch Copy Fails

Postby RobtheMOBI » Fri Jul 06, 2012 5:42 am

I have my TS-412 connected via a Gigabit ADSL Modem router(Fritzbox) to my ASUS motherboard which has a Gigabit connection. Transfer rates are abysmal. I am lucky to get 2 Mb/s. I tried the one touch copy via the front USB port. It does not work.

I am somewhat underwhelmed by the QNAP experience so far.

We need more details, ie. firmware in place, network configuration (one or two LAN cables, trunking, ...), client (with connection) for the network access, ... please.

schumaku, thank you for your reply.

I am using firmware 3.7.1 Build 20120615, I have the QNAP connected to a Fritzbox, Computer connected to the Fritzbox. QNAP shows the connection as 100Mbps. The ASUS Maximus IV has intel Gigabit LAN controller.
I can get 2mb/sec, usually 1.6mb/s.

That's a Fritz with a Gigabit Ethernet switch according your original post.

Failed or broken switch port, failed Ethernet negotiation, wrong switch port configuration, bad cables, incompatile Ethenret port configuration, or unsupported port trunking cand and will cause such low perfromance level.

Check the Fritz' Ethernt switch port config (if configureable).
Don't use port tunking, start with a single RJ45 conneciton only.
Ensure all four pairs of the cable are correct, try an alternate cable.

Saw this thread while searching for a similar problem I was having with my fritzbox and ts-412 limited to 100Mbit/s. Maybe the problem you are having is that the ethernet ports on the fritzbox are in green mode? http://kelvyntaylor.blogspot.com.au/201 ... -mode.html

Good luck..
