I have a TS410 running 2x1TB Drives on Raid 1 with current firmware of 3.1.2 Build 1207T.
I had this initial problem after I had upgraded to 3.2.3 although I downgraded back to 3.1.2 due to the lack of xbox support from Twonky.
The problem is that the default shares were deleted so a number of services couldnt be started or would fail to run properly.
QNAP Online support sorted this out for me by restoring my smb.conf default file and then restoring the default shares from the Web interface which solved the problem.
However, today while accessing a PHP/MySQL website running on the box I started getting sql errors based on max storage limits being reached - upon investigation the default shares had once again disappeared - there were no system outages, failures or restarts that could have caused this.
I managed to restore a backup of the settings which I took this morning, so thankfully everything is working again, however, in order to make sure that this does not happen again, does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem may be or has anyone else experienced similar disappearing default shares on this or other boxes?
Andy
