Following the Firmware upgrade to latest version (3.2.3 Build 0209T) on our TS-439U NAS, the Email Alert Notification facility has stopped working.
When I attempt to send a test email, it fails with the following error message:
"The system cannot send the test e-mail, please check your settings."
The System Log entry is:
"Notification] System fails to send the test email with the current SMTP server settings."
The settings are as follows:
SMTP Server: post.viatel.net
Port Number: 25
Sender: qnap-b1@xxxxx.net
SMTP Authentication: Not enabled
Use SSL/TSL secure connection: Not enabled
E-mail address 1: jr.monitor@xxxxx.co.uk
E-mail address 2: [No entry]
I have tried using Telnet from within an SSH Terminal session to send a test email and that works ok so there is no problem with the network. Also, the problem is the same for both units.
This is an essential feature because the units are in a remote data centre so would really appreciate some help on this. Thanks.
