qnap ts-212 connection drops randomly

hi there,

not sure whether this is in the correct place as i couldnt find a network topic section

we have a qnap ts-212 which we have issues with at the moment.

the connection to the qnap is unstable, we have a continuous ping going to the ip address, which will drop and time out every so often, the time outs can last between a second and 10 mins, then they start to ping again. there isnt any sort of pattern as to when the connection drops.

we have tried another network location and another ethernet cable and the issue stays the same. the firmware is up to date (3.7.1 (20120615))

the connection drops while we are connected to the web interface so the issue isnt inactivity.

does anyone have anything that we can try?
