A question about port-trunking (balance-rr)

Postby ilovethisgame » Mon Aug 06, 2012 6:37 pm

Hi guys,

I have a TS-879U-RP with dual Gigabit LAN ports with Gigabit switch, and I have sucessfully configured port trunking with the option balanced-rr.

When I do some files copy testing between NAS and clients computer, I found something hard to understand.

When files are being copied. The packet received on ethernet 1 is unchanged, while the packet sent on ethernet 1 is changing. At the same time, the packet received and sent on ethernet 2 are also changing. If I copied files from different clients to NAS, a total speed of only 110MB/s can be reached. Since ethernet 1 is not receiving packets, so 110MB/s is explainable.

After a while I did the same test, I found that ethernet 2 is not receiving any packets. The total speed is also about 115MB/s. Why? How to let both ethernet ports to receive packets?
