ShutDown & Resuming
I planned shutdown of the NAS at 01:00 am and resuming at 09:00 am but the NAS restart before the 09:00 am
Some times after about 2 hours from the shutdown, other after 3 hours......the duration is variable....
In the event log I read "System was shut down on 'day mounth dd hh.mm.ss' CEST 2014" and after "System started"
I have No UPS ! APP enabled: CloudLink, Music Station, Photo Station, Video Station, DropBox, Malware Remover
WOL enabled on the NAS and on Router Fritz!Box 3390 (enabled uPnP and WiFi).
In the night the router stay on (always with WiFi), as well as 2 SmartPhone.
The Smartphones have not yet send data to the NAS and no Internet users are active.
How can I fix it?
Other tests of 28 October:
With WOL disabled in the NAS, the NAS comes on exactly at 09:00 am
Disabling WOL only on the router and not on the NAS does not change anything (the NAS is turned on before 9)
Any suggestions?
It 'a firmware bug?
Hardware - HD Standby
I enabled the standby disks (RAID 1) for every 20 minutes of inactivity but the discs should never be on standby.
The HDD1 and HDD2 LEDs turned on/off at least every 20-30 seconds
I have to do some other configuration?
Thanks for any help

Please provide the output of: blkdevMonitor.sh when run on your NAS. Please provide all 100 iterations. (Due to message size restrictions in the Forum, you will probably need to post the output to "Pastebin.com", and then provide the URL to access it.

The result is this: http://pastebin.com/eBmv0hhA
Can you tell me what process does not allow the two HD (raid 1) going into standby?
Thanks

Not based on the data you provided. It only shows 1 iteration.in3vrr wrote:Patrick, thanks for the reply and instructions.pwilson wrote: Please review QNAPedia article: Find out which process prevents the hard drives from spindown

Patrick,
I have divided the results into three files due to limitations Pastebin
I hope that's okay

Monitor2 41/79 test: http://pastebin.com/fCut3kda
Monitor3 80/100 test: http://pastebin.com/dfeP7MPB

Is there any expert who is able to analyze the output of blkdevMonitor and suggest me a solution to the problem HDD spin down?
....and also for the problem shutdown / resuming.....
Thanks

Do you need the Qsync versioning?

Qsync is enabled (just me as a user), but I've never used.
The "version control" is enabled (even the one in my folder).
This is the reason for the failure of the HDD standby ?
Now I try to disable it.....

Vielen Dank!schumaku wrote:Si, this is what the versiond is supposed to do.
The "nice" thing is that the Qnap Support did not tell me anything!
I ask you a favor: I would like to use SSH but could not find enough documentation to learn .... can you tell me what books may buy, or what websites to visit, where can I find a complete list of commands and their meanings applied to Qnap Nas (in particular for my TS-269 Pro, if there are different commands).
Just learn Linux? Which one? Ubuntu ?
Thanks

Re: Shutdown/resuming problems & no HD standby
Hi schumaku, schumaku wrote:Si, this is what the versiond is supposed to do.
a few days ago I tried to isolate the NAS unplugging the LAN cable. HDDs were not, however, on standby ....
After 15-20 seconds I always saw the HDD LED flashing ..... looked like a polling ...
These things I had also written to the Qnap support !!
Today I disabled NAS Qsync and have isolated the NAS unplugging the LAN cable, and now I saw the HDD go to standby !!!!!!
As you said, the problem was Qsync !!!!!! Thanks !!!
There are too many bugs in the firmware .... even trivial.........
Few weeks ago I reported to Qnap support a problem with vertical scroll to Photo Station with Chrome and Notebook HD 1920x1200 pixels; After a long time (too long) the Test Team has recognized the problem ....
Thanks again
Bob
