Hi, im the new owner of a TS 412 and need your help

Postby Duupje2002 » Mon Jul 02, 2012 6:41 am

Hi all,

I'm the new owner of a TS-412 and very happy with it and all the stuff I can find on the forum about it.
Yet I still encounter an issue/challenge.
When I use the ''web file manager'' every file I try to download is 0kb and therefore I can not open it on my computer.
In the manual they say that the max for upload is 2GB but they say nothing about a max for download.

Even if I try to download a photo of 1mb it still downloads it as a file of 0 kb and I'm still not able to open it.

Can someone please help me?

Kind Regards,
Duupje

More info:
Firmware Version 3.7.1 Build 20120615
Used: Firefox and Internet Explorer.

It might be as simple as a File Permissions issue, perhaps you should double check your settings. Check the Web File Manager section of the on-line manual, just to be sure you didn't overlook anything.

Does this happen locally when using Web File Manager inside your network, or only when accessing it remotely? (You didn't include this information with your original query). Perhaps if you provided more information about the symptoms we could assist you further. Do the Connection or Event logs provide any hints as to what the issue might be? Perhaps you could cut&paste from the logs to provide some of this information as well.

It is difficult to provide meaningful assistance with so little information provided.

Patrick.

Hi pwilson,

I checked the permissions before posting here, even if I give all the permissions that I can it still doesn't work. Within the network and outside. With and without SSH. The logs are emprty regarding this :(. I even tried a full reboot but still without any luck :(.

Please let me know if i can provide any other information.

Thanks

everal things to check:
- Access rights and U**x masks? Tell us smore about the NAS (plain folder based security, or advanced folder permission), and more on the folders and files (owner/group/U**x mask).
- Check any security and AntiVirus software on your computer if htere is something trapped.

The upload max can be higher if you have a recent Java run-time installed. There will be an advanced uploaer, allowing uploads >> 2 GB. Of course, for download, the limitaiton is not at zeo...

Hi,

I solved the download issue, it seems that I didn't apply the correct rights on the correct level structure. Thanks all for you help! (I feel like an idiot ;-) )

With Java run time installer you mean on your client or on your QNAP?

Regards,
