[FIXED] Can't browse for TS-109 Pro in Windows Workgroup

Hmz, still can't connect to my TS-109 with guest account on it turned off. Gonna look at this thread tomorrow.

I just confirmed that most of the Samba issues in 1.1.4 can be solved by the beta 2.0.

I'm sorry, but the beta does not fix the issue for me.

I have tried all the suggestions above, but I cannot see the QNAP in my workgroup. i.e. if I go to a command prompt and type "net view" I can see all the computers on my network that are in the same workgroup, but I cannot see the QNAP.

Surely I can't be the only one that still has this issue?

edit: I have the TS-209 with the latest beta, and I cannot see the QNAP in the workgroup from either Vista or XP Pro.

For future posterity, the way I have fixed this is by:

(a) First turning the QNAP into a PDC.
(b) On all PCs on network, connecting to the domain.
(c) ON all PCs on the network, leave the domain and join the original workgroup.

Voila! All fixed.

I too have the same kind of problem (yes, I know this thread is slightly old)
I can find it with qnap finder, I can log into it, but I cannot get it to work in a workgroup, or just plain use it as Z: drive.
I am a rather newbie to networking, but it has been running without a hassle for 6 months now.

What is PDC?

Any other idea/settings I might have missed out on?

Did find a solution, instead of browsing when mapping a network drive in xp, I \\ip-adress\Qmultimedia to go where I wanted. Fixed for me
