The Surveillance Station is in dire need of an overhaul. It's been over 2 years and they still havn't addressed firefox/safari/crome/mac/iPhone/Ipad compatibility...

Personally I find it hilarious and an EPIC FAILURE on QNAP's part that a Surveillance system built on a linux system only supports a microsoft windows browser!

If the cgi was not compiled I'm sure the community would have fixed this by now...

Any news on this topic?
As a heavy Mac user I'd like to be able to use this option.

Jerry

If the CGIs weren't all compiled I'm sure the user community would have achieved a lot more than just fix the awful surveillance station. </lament>

I just want to up this "wanted Feature".
I think with an ever growing MAC community it is unacceptable that they advertise with mac compatible and have the surveillance station only working properly under windows. There're some developers at Qnap that have Mac's, i'm sure, otherwise we had no Time Machine support either.

As mentioned before, the surveillance station is already more then 2 years old and need an overhaul. A limited software version of the NVR series for example. A possibility to upgrade to more then 4 camera's with a wider selection of models. Look at the competition! If they can do it why not Qnap?
I love my Qnap but this is for me the only negative!

Back to the top for this one.

I really want to buy a TS-219P+ but its no good if surveillance station won't support OS X.

No, it works fine on mac osx as it is controlled via a browser (there is an application but I don't bother with it). However, the security camera feature doesn't work on any browser on mac osx properly.

I'm really surprised it has taken this long to (not) do anything about it. I'm seriously considering a mac mini server and just using the qnap as server storage.

It would be great if someone from Qnap would come on their own forum and explain shunting request is so hard for them to achieve?

Open the api up and let developers take care of it! Before long I think I may just get a mac mini running server and reluctantly just use my qnap as attached storage!!!
