Windows Server 2008 R2 Cannot detect QNAP

Post by Alestan3 »

Hello,

If I posted in the wrong section, kindly tell me where to post instead.

Problem: QNAP cannot be detected in OS and by Acronis Enterprise level Backup Software

Background of Network:
-Domain environment
-Server in question is App server and only Windows Server 2008 R2 OS(1 other server is Windows Server 2008 Standard)
-Can ping QNAP and other computers on network
-9 other workstations and servers can currently backup to the QNAP with no issues.

When I installed the QNAP, the server could backup to and detect the QNAP fine. After that I get the "A device attached to the system is not functioning" error when trying to navigate to it.
I know that Windows Server 2008 uses a different algorithm that can cause problems with some backup devices but it does not make sense considering one other Windows Server 2008 Standard OS can
detect and backup to the QNAP with no issues.

Any help or direction would be much appreciated.
