I've been owning 2 QNAP NAS for allmost 2 years now and I would like to see http support better developed!
Maybe QNAP can join hands with Jdownloader as this would be great and I could start using my NAS for my downloads!

Simply could be so good if the folks at Qnap getting together and developed the program ala JDownloader or if you created a partnership with JDownloader .. So you could start using its NAS for downloads etc. .. We look forward to such a program .. now when Qget .. Nzbget etc are out, then you must surely also be able to create a multi-program JDownloader!?!? :-)

Would be good if an update for 3.4 FW can be released.

Qrapid also supported other download services like easynews. These do not work with QGet2

Sure it does, i'm using it with easynews. Just select "Input manually" at the host form field and enter "easynews.com" there, you can do this with any hostname you like.

Strange, I hoped it worked that way but all I received was a 404 in the download-list when I tried

Hi all,
same here with QRapid.
The real problem is that with QGet 2, an input link like http://www.fileserve.com/file/abcdefg will JUST download a file called abcdefg, which is USELESS.
QRapid did ask the server for the complete filename, so it was told to QGet 1.x to download the REAL complete filename (ie http://www.fileserve.com/file/abcdefg/MyFile.rar)
SInce the new QGet seems to be unable to gather the real filename, so you have to do it manually.
At the moment, only RapidShare seems to works "automatically" !
That's why an upgrade to QNap firmware itself or QRapid would be VERY appreciated !
Cheers

sorry but it's incorrect, tried yesterday and today with many links: for example "http://www.fileserve.com/file/abcdefg/MyFile.rar" works as "http://www.fileserve.com/file/abcdefg" for me but not forever. Other links completed, others not, example:

http://www.fileserve.com/file/abcdefg/MyFile.rar yes

http://www.fileserve.com/file/abcdefg/MyFile1.rar not

http://www.fileserve.com/file/abcdefg/MyFile.part2.rar yes

or the same http://www.fileserve.com/file/abcdefg yes

the firmware is the real problem

if you set account login as http://www.fileserve.com or fileserve.com works for me for some files and not for all of the same group (ex: part1 to part 10, part2 can't download)

I have been faffing around with Qrapid, qGet and various other methods of queing up my downloads to my NAS. I recently discovered this to be the answer for all the problems I had between download clients and the QNAP download manager.

Behold: pLoad !!

http://pyload.org/

It's 100 times better than the Download Station and rids the need for Qrapid, and/or qGet.

Code: Select all
http://pyload.org/

VERY good post on this forum about how to set it up.

Code: Select all

http://forum.qnap.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=33515&hilit=pyload#p144954

As I say, it is the answer to my prayers and pretty easy to set up. Just do what the above how-to shows.
