When I connect it via USB it sees the printer perfectly, and when I connect remotely via windows 7 (64bit), I can see it, and connect to it. However nothing prints, and no error is shown.
Windows shows nothing in the queue, just as on the admin-page for the NAS.
I'm on 3.4.0 BTW.

That is exactly my scenario and I have 3.4.2 and I have rebooted several times.

+1 - Same issue, Samsung ML-1665, Qnap TS-119 turbo running 3.4.2 Build 0331T. Used to print perfectly on the previous version 3.3.9. 3.4.x was a joke so I downgraded. Now have 3.4.2 which seems great in almost all respects but this print issue is annoying.
Sometimes if I clear the print queue, switch the printer off/on and mess about with print settings I get one print through then it goes back to allowing me to print, saying it printed OK but nothing comes out of the printer. The printer status page shows up the correct printer etc...

I've recently purchased a TS-209. I've updated the firmware to 3.3.0 Build 0924T but I can't seem to get it to work with a Samsung ML-2570 mono laser printer.

I can see it on the 'USB Printer' page, where it is identified correctly, and can install it with the 'PS' driver on my PC running Windows 7, but it just won't print. When I send a test page to it the green status light on the printer starts to flash as if it is about to print but that's as far as it gets.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have a Canon D760copier/laser printer (runs PC 1200 / iC D700 drivers), an Epson Stylus Photo 960, and an Epson Stylus Photo 2200 running the additional Epson printer support software.

I have tried every permutation I have found on the QNAP sites, and cannot get the print server to work, though the printers are recognized. One of the main reasons for purchasing the QNAP was its Print Server abilities. Does this work or not?

Kind Regards,

using QNAP T219P with Epson Printer R200. Initally worked ok but now it reqularly stops printing mid page, clearing the print spooler in the control panel doesnt work and the only way to clear it is to reboot the Qnap and start again. It then prints fine for a while until it stops again. Pretty fustrating since i bought this nas drive for its print server!!

Hi Folks,

If you encounter the printer issue after upgraded to 3.4.x, please use the latest release version 3.4.3 build0520 and try again. We have revised the code of USB and get some report about the new firmware can solve the printer issue.

I tried out the new FW release and the result is: Still does not work - same problem since 3.4.x - no change of problem behaviour.

Printer: HP LaserJet 1018
NAS: TS-210 Turbo NAS
FW: 3.4.3 Build 0520

-> Printer is seen in Windosw and Bonjour and can be connected. But printer job stays in queue and nothing gets print out. Status of print job is always completed. Same problem when using Bonjour.

Hi netcat,

For 3.4.x printer function, we have one known issue with Mac OS and we are processing on it.

I have exactly the same printer (Epson stlus photo r200) and set up with the TS212 is totally unreliable. I also was expecting printer server to be a VERY straight forward feature of this server. For goodness sake a bog standard share from a PC does a better job.

I have a windows netbook and a macbookpro, both hooked up to the server printer (connected as specified both ways in the manual) and the MBP via bonjour. I have exactly the same issues as described above, in addition if something eventuallyu prints it has taken forever to get there. Also via the MBP printing is not WYSIWYG eg. web pages presented nearly in plain text (not quite but certainly not native layout)

QNAP Please help me resolve this asap otherwise i may be returning the box as not fit for purpose.

Also with my Epson SP R200 there is no bi-directional communication, so even if printing does eventually work (if you are going to provide a fix?) there is not info passed back regarding ink, so I will not be able to use the printer via server as the software is the only way to tell if an ink cart needs replacing !

Hi dooferdog

Could you upgrade to 3.4.3 and try again the printer server function? we have enhanced the printer compatibility on 3.4.3 Build0520.
