Disk space is full

Postby norespond » Mon Sep 19, 2011 11:15 am

Hi..,
I can not access my qnap(TS-459 Pro II).
I see the syslog said: [Mirror Disk Volume: Drive 1 2] Disk space is full.

Everytime I go to web file manager also keep said "loading" and i can see the freespace is 9MB from 1TB
I try to empty network recycle been from system admin> network recycle bin, but keep said "Applying, please wait."

Anything else I should do?
thanks for any reply/ help

Same here: Qnap TS-439
I can't use the box any more except the web interface. No access via explorer or iSCSI.
All attempts to delete files ends in a 'loading...' message.

In case of the Disk Volume actually being full you may want to try to connect via WinSCP or SSH and delete some files. This may be some trial and error as the NAS will be unresponsive at some times with the disk in a full state.

Hi forkless,

thanks for that hint! I finally was able to delete some files with WinSCP and got the box working!

I'm in the same boat, but unfortunately my TS-410 keeps restarting every 5 minutes. So I have a very small window to try to do anything via ssh. My NAS is very slow to respond so I haven't been able to delete anything of it. Any suggestions?

What you can do to check if the QNAP is up is open a command prompt and a do

Code: Select all
ping [qnap-ipaddress] -t

This will keep pinging the QNAP (instead of stopping after 4 tries)

Once you get ping replies spam the WinSCP login or try logging in using putty you could try to have a command on the clipboard or stop services to prevent memory exhaustion

Code: Select all
/etc/init.d/services.sh stop

Or have a rm command on your clipboard that safely removes some files

Hope that helps,
