Retail compatible Wi-fi adapter

Postby pascone » Fri Mar 23, 2012 6:29 am

I printed out the official and unofficially supported lists and was unable to find any of these models at Best Buy or Staples. Not sure the model numbers have evolved since these lists were purchased since in many cases the numbers are very close. The stores are quite from where I live so purchasing, trying ad taking back over and over is not ideal. Can somebody recommend a recently purchased wi-fi dongle I can acquire through retail channels today to use with my TS-219 Turbo NAS?
Many Thanks,
Jeffrey

I have done 3 laps to bestbuy and tried 3 different USB WIFI adapters, my most recent being the CISCO/LinkSys AE1200, the AE1000 is supported so I figured it should work? In all cases I am getting "USB Wi-Fi device is not ready, please check again." Can somebody reccomend a USB WIFI I can buy TODAY retail because I am striking out finding anything on the official and unofficial QNAP lists.
Thanks!

Gave up on this venture after 5 sticks didn't work.. Recognized by lusb in all cases but never came up under network. Hardwired to a wireless repeater now I configured with DD-WRT.. Hopefully future revs will have better USB WiFi support. Also, have tried Skyping QNAP tech support 30-40 times, never a reply. They may as well stop offering this support.

Close, very near or AE1200 instead of AE1000 ... it's all not compatible operational most likley. Under some conditions, the vendor type is the ame, but sometime very different chipsets were in place.
