T859Pro+ and Windows 7 Pro

Postby m3rbmw » Sun Apr 08, 2012 10:11 am

I am having no luck getting my Windows 7 Pro PC to connect to the NAS. I am running SBS 2003 and have 2 PC's connected, one with XP-Pro and the other with Windows 7 Pro.

When I first installed the NAS the Windows 7 PC connected without any problem and then I had a power failure. Since then it initially refused to connect and then without changing anything it started working again. Until today when it tells me that I do not have permissions to use the network resource and the user cannot be found.

I have tried enabling and disabling Domain security without any luck.

The really annoying part is that my XP-Pro box has worked perfectly from day 1 with the same domain user/password logged on and regardless of what changes I make to the NAS it still works.

I tried logging onto my Windows 7 box as administrator and for a short time I could access the NAS - but now it gets the same message.

I access the NAS from my Playstation and it has no problems connecting regardless of whether the NAS is setup with domain security of no security.

My hair is thinning rapidly - does anyone have some advice for me????

You may have a saved credential which isn't valid. On the Win7 machine, try going to Control Panel->Credential Manager and deleting any saved creds that point to your NAS. Then, try connecting again, you can save your refreshed creds by setting the checkbox when entering.

I bow down to your knowledge - After spending days f%$cking around it was fixed by simply deleting those credentials, going back to explorer and clicking on the NAS.

Thankyou thankyou thankyou......
