Question - If my QNAP dies, what happens to my RAID???

Postby rmeira » Wed May 02, 2012 8:18 am

Hy guys...
I have a QNAP TS-239 PRO II and just bought a TS-869 PRO ....
All for home use ... but ... coming home, and thinking about the new qnap that's coming home next week, i was wondering ....
I'm planning on using RAID 6, and ... I know what happens when a HD crash.
But if my QNAP goes wild ???.... what I do ??? Is it possible to restore my RAID in a new QNAP ????.....
Thank you for your thoughts on this ;-)

Yes, that's called System Migration and this is the documentation for it.

No, RAID has never ever been a replacement for backups. Without backups you will eventually lose data!
