Has anyone successfully installed and used uTorrent on a TS-412?

How do I use the scripts provided in this thread? <--- Linux Newbie

Does the Linux uTorrent have ALL the features of the Windows and Mac OSX versions, as the advanced features of uTorrent is why I'm not happy with Download Station and QGet.

Can you move completed downloads successfully with Linux uTorrent? Because with QGet/Download Station, it COPIES to completed folder, resulting in duplicates on my NAS.

Thanx all.

as far as i know UTorrent only runns on intel based NASes (x39, x59, x69, x79, 509 and 809).
a 412 however has a ARM CPU so you are out of luck.

but there are other alternatives like the rTorrent++ or the transmission QPKGs

Thanx for the info! Have confirmed this via other threads on the forums here.

Am thinking bout installing Transmission, althought it apparently involves a lot of command line file editing to get it installed an configured. MIght look for a Transmission QPKG, or slowly follow the instructions on wikipedia and hope for the best.

Transmission qpkg here is very simple to install and set up and works very nicely in the background

Yeah, and Transmission Remote GUI looks almost exactly like the old good uTorrent versions before they screwed the thing in v3.

Have Transmission installed but it wont let me access the web interface using my admin account and password.

Changed password in the settings.json file via web admin interface for Transmission. IT WONT RECOGNISE ANY PASSWORD or username!

Anyone else had this problem and how did you solve it?

There is and was. But having password on a "default" setting is dangerous, as hackers find out about such standard "default" settings and then search for systems to hack by exploiting them.

After changing the password, I can still access Web Admin and Web UI for Transmission, but the Transmission Remote GUI for MAc OSX gets denied connection using both default password and new password.

You need to describe exactly how did you change the password, since changing it in settings.json works just perfectly fine for me. You are also totally off-topic here. There is a dedicated subforum for Transmission.

Apologies for being off topic.

I'm just over looking for a solution and want one ASAP. I changed it in settings.json btw and it doesn't appear to have changed anything apart from block the remote client GUI.

nope, only just recently found out bout this, documentation on Transmission is lacking.

P.S. Has anyone else had random screen distortions when using a Mac Mini hooked up to Sony 40 inch LCD via HDMI?
