Spanning external USB drives

Postby EnigmaticSoul » Tue Jun 12, 2012 11:59 pm

Hello,

I am still a newb at managing my TS-212, but managed to recently expand my previous 2x1TB drives to 2x3TB, and now have the two 1TB drives connected via a USB docking station.

Per the subject, I'm wondering if there is any way to create a "spanned volume" that crosses the two disks in the same way that is possible via NTFS, so that the two 1TB drives would appear as 2TB of contiguous space? Searching the forums I could find nothing on this subject currently.

Thanks very much!

The only way to do it is to put them in an enclosure that presents the 2 drives to the NAS as one.
