Moving files between shares on same drive now really slow!

I have a QNAP TS-209 II with current firmware version:3.1.0 Build 0708T.

I recently changed my drives from 2 x 500GB drives (with a single linear disk volume) to 2 seperate 1TB drives.

Before when I wanted to move a file from one share to another (usually from the QDownload share to the TV share) using FileZilla it would take no time at all (a simple rename).

Now when I try to do the same thing (from the QDownload share on Drive 1 to the TV share, also on Drive 1) it takes about one minute.
When I try and do the same thing using WebFileManager it goes forever!

The TV share was definately setup on drive 1 - I assume the system shares (QDownload included) are on drive 1 (but I hcan't seem to find a way to confirm that for sure). When I do a "MOVE" with FileZilla the space on both drives does not change so I'm pretty sure it isn't copying the file from one disk to the other.

Any ideas why this is happening???

Why wil this be any different from FileZilla?

I just did a Scan of Volume1 (which took about an hour) and tried it again.

The Move using WebFileManager just took 30secs - so looks like that's at least working now (although still looks like it is copying the file because it used to take only 2 seconds with WebFileManager)

If you move one file from share A to share B windows has no way to know if the file is on the same disk so actually it uses a standard move procedure (copy+delete)
if you move the file in the same share A(folder1) to A(folder2) the move is really fast.

To speed up things you can:
1) telnet into the nas and issue a MV command (you actually are moving the files within the same disk/filesystem and linux knows it so the move operation is very quick, no data is copied/deleted)
2) telnet into the nas and create a symbolic link into A that points to B (if you do this move frequently).. then you can move (from Windows) from \\A\folder1 to \\A\symlinktoB in the "quick" way.

FileZilla is an FTP client the same as WinSCP!

if you read my original issue - it always used to work with FileZilla.
I have since tried WinSCP and as suspected it acts exactly the same as FileZilla.

Not completely! WinSCP uses SSH and then SCP or SFTP.
