Hi,
I recently bought two TS-131P, and put some WD Red 3TB drives in them. Proabably my mistake but there were drives I pulled out of a Synology NAS which I didn't erase.
One of the TS-131P accepted the disk and after a couple of tries formatted it, and seems to be working correctly. The other however, powers up, I can see the device on Qfinder, and it has allowed me to upgrade the firmware but I'm stuck in a loop of the smart installation guide. I follow the steps, but it doesn't seem to make any difference what I fill in the fields the device reboots and is back to the same settings - then I can't do anything except start the smart installation guide again!
I've done this about 20 times! Once or twice, Qfinder has reported the new device name and IP address during the boot cycle, but then reverts back to the default names with the same results, before I can access them.
I can SSH into the device, but I don't know any commands to run that might help me! Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!
Brand new TS-131P, stuck in installation loop

how about formatting the drive in that wonky unit?
just do it in via a computer
