I'm really confused please help me immediately
I'm afraid to tell you we cannot help you "immediately" we are not here 24/7 to give tech support.

what state is the NAS in now. LED lights etc?

can you connect to the NAS using QFinder? do not try the old IP address unless your have a reservation in DHCP for the NAS as it may have changed.

also at the end of the processes you should see:

Code: Select all

How to do if the startup problem persists

If the startup problem persists, please return the NAS to your local dealer or distributor for system repair immediately.

NOTE: If the recover progress does not work at the first time, please try another PC or reburn the ISO image.
also there is method 1 which you seemed to not use. any reason why?

https://wiki.qnap.com/wiki/Firmware_Rec ... _Player.29
I mean I don't now what should I do at this point. Now my NAS still flashing reds and I'm really afraid if I abort this, something worst happened. So, i'd just want to be adressed what should i do right now :-(

I didn't use the first method because my host PC didn't support the VMware when I trying to install it.

Now it keeps flashing red as the ubuntu prompt on the desktops looks nothing processed or recovered at all.

As stated before.

NOTE: If the recover progress does not work at the first time, please try another PC or reburn the ISO image.

so it looks like the firmware recovery did not work, does it. so try again. if you dont want to go any further, then I would suggest you contact QNAP Support then. https://service.qnap.com/en-uk/user/create-ticket since we have no clue as to what state your NAS is in. you will wait for Tech support getting back to you, it will not happen immediately.

just on another point. Do you have a backup of the data on your NAS?
Regards Simon

Not yet. I just follows the instruction to remove all the harddisk. Is there a possible data deletion even while the harddisk is removed from the device?

So, I just want to make sure before I move to other PC or reburn the ISO : is there safe to force power off the NAS by unplugging the power cord right now?

Not sure how data deletion would work without the hard disks ;)

If the HDD have been removed just turn it off.

Exactly :D

Okay, thank you for patiently understanding my problems here! I'll try your suggestions and report the updates in the process.

Hi Simon,
I just finished my second attempt as your suggestions to use another CD Live ISO, but the result is nothing at all.
The TX Packets on eth0 still won't increasing. I also use another PC and another Ethernet, but still nothing at all.
Is there another possible methods to do firmware recovery? Or maybe another ISOs?

not that I know of. You may need to ask QNAP support that question and see if they can advise of any other way of recovering your NAS.
