I inserted all 6 disks one by one with shutdowns and my NAS finally works again but is extremely slow and unreliable.

just a quick note had this happen to me yesterday on TS253Be unit going from firmware 4.x to 5.x. bricked to factory after update said no disks installed.

Did not have a monitor or anything but I did the fix to remove both disks, reboot NAS without it then shutdown and put first disk back in. It came up with volume degraded but data was there. Then shutdown and put second disk in. Came back up and started resync process...

scary for a moment and never seen this in years of qnap upgrades...
