Qnap TS-220 issue

Post by massimo2022 »

HI all,

the NAS (model Qnap TS-220 X 2HD) is not working anymore, it turns ON, i can ping it, if i open the https webpage i get the "download CGI" issue.
I've done password reset with the small button on the side, but it didn't help.
The nas runs the firmware 4.3.3.2057
The power led is flashing red and green.

The nas had RSYNCD, FTPD and SMB active services and all are oflline/not working.

Is the NAS gone?

If yes, is there any way to recover the file systems?

thanks you

massimo

With this decade old NAS , it's easy to read the files on the disk.

Just pop them(or just one .. depending how they were setup, no info given) in a a system that can read ext3/4 (Windows with tool and native on Mac and Linux) and read the files.

This will not work anymore on new NAS so no matter what you do, ALWAYS have backups in the future.

When you have backed your files up, you can erase the disks and start the NAS from scratch.

Hi,

the configuration is RAID1 mirroring
i've bkups of the most important things, but not everything
e.g. a great number of SW ISOs that i should redownload from a number of websites and will take me a lof ot time..

With RAID1 you can just pop a single drive into another system to read the files

no .. as said in my initial post, you can format both drives after and just start from scratch, the OS is on the drives. (so clearing the drives will let you setup like new)

i've removed disks (done a bkup) and checked FS and hardware is good
is there any tool to "refresh" the OS without having to reformat everything (start from "zero")?

thanks

So you erased the disks and placed them in the NAS ?

Should be pretty much the same as a new purchase from here
