Disable/hide home/multimedia features

Post by SchiederLeonardo »

Hi,

I have a QNAP TS-269 Pro with QTS 4.1.1 installed. I would like to set the checkmark at

System Settings / General Settings / Disable and hide the home/multimedia features such as ...

When I click on General Settings, the entry is there, but disappears. Does anyone know how to get it back?

Regards, Leonardo

I've exactly the same weird behaviour. Clicking "System Settings" / "General Settings" shortly shows the "Disable and..." setting, but after loading finished it disappears. Very strange! Anybody knows a solution?

- Windows 8.1 with latest updates
- HS-210
- Firmware 4.1.1
- HS-210 connected to FritzBox 7490 via GBit Ethernet

There have been multiple "Builds" of QTS 4.1.1, which one are you folks complaining about?

Code: Select all

echo "Firmware: $(getcfg system version) Build $(getcfg system 'Build Number')"
It isn't difficult to provide this essential information when asking for assistance.
Perhaps you'd have better luck with QTS 4.1`2 Build 20141229

Hi Patrick,

upgraded to QTS 4.1.2 build 20141229. But error is still there.
I made a small video that shows the behaviour, here are 3 frames chronologically extracted. In picture 2 you see the option available, but in picture 3 it's gone:

Strange, isn't it? Thanks Michael

I don't think it's a bug ... looks intentional. When you check the documentation you find some very few NAS series where this control is required. Further on, during new installations, the admin is challenged to select business or home type default installation. Afraid, I don't have the big picture on this part yet.
