My TVS682t works fine when using port 2 (the first one that I popped the cable into). If I switch the cable to port 1, I can't get into the qnap even from the thunderbolt port from my Mac. The addresses on my lan are dished out by a dhcp server running on windows server 2008 r2 and switching to port 1 gives the same IP address as on port 2.
The light in port 1 looks the same as on port 2. I have tried rebooting.
It's no big deal, but I wonder what's going on?

Re: Switching Ethernet ports
Tell us a little bit more about your NAS configuration.
If a DHCP server does issue the same IP address to two interfaces, the obvious guess would be that both interfaces have the same MAC address. This could indicate a factory config issue, could proof both network interfaces are configured to a network trunk (bond), ...
When we add the Thunderbolt interfaces to the equation it is a little bit more difficult. Not sure on how you try to reach the NAS form the Mac, ie. using Qfinder to simplify things?
Are the Thunderbolt ports configured to the system default Thunderbolt Bridge (which is a Virtual Switch), or are these bridged to another Virtual Switch, ie. the one with the two Ethernet interfaces?
