After logon only blue screen
Hi everybody,
In the adminitration page, after putting my user name and password the page stay blue with "hourglass turning"
If i wait a long time (end of session time) , the page coming back to ask user and password...
I can access with SSH, some services working like RTRR (I use this NAS as backup from another) i can see all share and data.
It's like a service not responding...
Have you an idea ?
Thanks a lot in advance

Re: After logon only blue screen
Chrome seems to work the best. I would run top via ssh to see if something is pegging the CPU.

Re: After logon only blue screen
Hmmm... what URL are you using in your browser? IP or myqnapcloud, etc.?
Have you tried rebooting the QNAP via SSH/QFinder Pro and see if you see same behavior?

Re: After logon only blue screen
Hi, having exactly the same trouble here after swapping disks in my TS410. So the same disks are in there but in different order. Did a reset a few times.
Now QManager (Android) mentions that it's back to RAID 5 but disk 3 is inactive. Disk health mentions 4 /4 healthy.
System logs don't open.
Resource monitor (Windows) reports wrong password (but I'm sure it's correct).
And as mentioned, only blue screen after login in Windows.
Any idea what to do?

Re: After logon only blue screen
open a helpdesk ticket with QNAP would be the first suggestion.

Re: After logon only blue screen
For people have the same problem, technical support give me this :
If you can login with SSH then enter the following command :
1. Login your NAS with SSH client such as Putty: http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgta ... nload.html
2. Type below command:
rm -rf /etc/config/.qos_config/users/admin
3. Reboot your NAS
Not working for me
After i receive this to try :
Please finally try to restore the factory settings by following the instructions below.
- Take out all the hard drives from the NAS while nas is stil turned on.
- restart the NAS without hard drives and open QFINDER.
- Open Qfinder Pro and Double click on the IP adres visible in Qfinder.
- You should get a message hard disks missing now plug the Hard disks back inside the NAS one by one.
- You should get a pop-up box with 2 options.. Restore Factory Settings and Initialize.
- If Restore Factory settings is pressed you restore the DEFAULT and your data will not be lost.
- If Initialize is pressed you will lose all data, users, settings etc, and your NAS will start from scratch again.
- So please be careful not to press initialize as you will lose DATA.
As worked but after that i need to setup all, re create the share and reinstall all application...
But all my data was ok
Hope help some people with same problem

Re: After logon only blue screen
received exactly the same advice 2 days ago and it also worked just fine for me ! I was very pleased to see it working again.
Only issue now is that I can not set shared folder permissions. Well, I can add and edit them, but when pressing 'apply' everything disappears again and I have no access.
Sounds familiar to somebody ?
Access by FTP is fine, access via QFile on my phone is working. The only thing missing is accessing it on my laptop. Which makes sense since there are nu folder permissions set.

Re: After logon only blue screen
I have just had the same problem.
I installed an old drive that have been used in the NAS before as "primary" (nas files on the disk) and after a reboot it ** up my existing NAS setup, so I did a “Restore Factory Settings” https://www.qnap.com/hu-hu/how-to/faq/a ... y-settings
And then I got the blue screen after I logged in as admin. I tried to Restore Factory Settings again in case something went wrong, no luck. I tried another firmware via Qfinder, still no luck.
Getting desperate I tried google translate a Italian page that mentioned Qnap blue screen, and there it said something about you have to make it believe you are English, so I changed my Firefox from Danish to English, and now no blue screen
I have a Qnap TS-639 so newest firmware is 4.2.6, maybe this is not a problem with NAS supported by newer firmware.
Hope it can help another in need.

Re: After logon only blue screen
I suddenly got a Blue Screen at logon on both my QNAP systems (different hardware, different firmware), with different browsers (Firefox / Edge ) - BUT - the same laptop.
Reboots did not help, nor did removing the "admin" user folder.
I did not want to reset both QNAP systems (as advised by QNAP), and so tried various other options.
Finally it appears to be a "Computer + browser + QNAP issue" - I could log on using an iPAD with the inbuilt browser - no problems.
I could also logon using Chrome on the "bad" laptop - no issues.
The Laptop + Firefox (Blue Screen) shows errors (developer screen) ... including
...
TypeError: ns.GetCommandSrc is not a function
main.js:988:24
...
So I guess that QNAP could do something to fix / prevent this. Until then try Chrome, try a different computer
I hope this helps someone out there

Re: After logon only blue screen
I have the same issue. Found out that it has to do with /tmp being full (in my case that even causes that the dashboard shows the fans are dead !).
In my case /tmp is only 64M but there is a service filling /tmp/.push_notification/cache. If I remove that folder everything is fine again, till it is flooded again ...
Did not find yet how to switch that caching off or a configration file of a service (which one ??) to change the destination folder.
