Update TS-439_20190921-4.2.6

Post by gorillale »

After the Update TS-439_20190921-4.2.6 the Cloud Connection with Hyper Backup Cloud Synch is no more working.
I switch back to older Build Version... then works.

Several times now problems with the security update, starting with the integration of cameras that no more worked before (corrected, ok).
Now after the latest update, no cloud connection can be set up, existing ones continue to work, but you can not create new ones.

Why do not you test your build?
Is this done on purpose so I have to buy a new NAS or how should I understand that?

Then let everything be so pointed and use our NAS to the end until the harware gives up the ghost!
I'm not updating anymore, I've had enough of it now.

That sound lika a bug that should be reported to Qnap support if you want it fixed.

  1. This is a user community forum and if you think you're talking to Qnap here that's not correct (link to Qnap above).
  2. I think it's impressive that you have a 10 year old NAS that's still usable for what it do and I'd even say that it's fantastic that you will still get security updates (unfortunately sometimes with bugs) for it for free for another 13 months.

Your threat isn't impressive considering that the only effect of it is that your data will be less secure in the future and that nobody else than you will ever notice. Your data, your decision. Good luck!
RAID have never ever been a replacement for backups. Without backups on a different system (preferably placed at another site), you will eventually lose data!

A non-RAID configuration (including RAID 0, which isn't really RAID) with a backup on a separate media protects your data far better than any RAID-volume without backup.

All data storage consists of both the primary storage and the backups. It's your money and your data, spend the storage budget wisely or pay with your data!
