I've had my TS653A for just over 3 years, and suddenly on Thursday night, drives 3-6 disappeared.
my setup is as follows:
drives 1-4 storage pool 1 thick volume
drive 5 thick volume (single) - used for CCTV
drive 6 thin volume
I had just upgraded maybe 6 hours earlier to the latest firmware (I usually do on the same day of release).
I have an older TS453A and a newer TS253Be too, so well versed with QNAP NAS.
I've logged a helpdesk ticket without response yet, but have searched the web, seems backplane failure (terminal) is likely - I know this was an issue on some of the 4/5 drive models.
The fact that drive 5 is in constant use, I'm thinking is the culprit.
Assuming I'm right, and out of warranty (?). I guess I have no option but to buy a new unit, like a TS653D. Would I be able to pull the drives, and put in the new unit in the same order, and expect all my data to be there ?
Drives 1-4 were replicated to my TS453A, so its not a concern really, and the CCTV is dynamic so doesn't matter, but it would be nice to get drive 6 data back.
Any thoughts on cause, solution, or the upgrade path please ?

Re: TS653A - 3 years old - 4 disks not seen suddenly
Hardware failure - proven by following help desk advice - move disks 1& 2 (the working ones) to slots 3&4 (with no other disks in) - result was system stuck in booting.
Offered me RMA level 1 $280 for repair estimated - think I’m better off buying a new TS653D instead, and moving the disks across
